Welcome to the CSUSB Panhellenic Council web site! We have developed this site to allow you to become familiar with the sororities at CSUSB. Sorority women at this university are proud of their abilities to successfully balance school, campus activities, work, community service, and involvement within their chapter. Panhellenic is the organization which governs the four National Panhellenic Conference Sororities on the CSUSB campus. We provide rules for and services to each organization. Events we host include Fall Recruitment, New Member Presents, All Sorority workshops, Greek Week, and Scholarship Banquets.
National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities, often referred to as a women's fraternities, are national or international membership organizations with chapters at four-year colleges and universities in the United states and Canada. Sorority membership, which usually begins during college, provides a lifetime of friendships, learning and community involvement. During college, an NPC sorority offers a home away from home and encourages individual personal and leadership development within a smaller group of friends in a larger university environment. Sororities encourage academic achievement, the development of leadership skills and community service. All sororities sponsor philanthropic activities for collegiate and alumnae chapters. Philanthropic activities include support of the national philanthrope of each national sorority and support of local non profit organizations in the college community. When your college experience is finished, your sorority affiliation continues with your sorority sisters. These special friendships are nurtured by alumnae activities and networking programs that provide opportunities for continued camaraderie, service and personal development among women with shared values and objectives. All NPC sororities are values-based and committed to worthwhile endeavors. Members are expected to maintain the high standards set by their sorority as well as the values established by the founders of the organization. |
